Lyne, Denis and I had opted for the simplicity of just hopping on the public bus to get to Finisterre for the day. We were able to farewell Marianne onto her bus for the airport.
It was a long three hour journey out to Finisterre, but much of it was by this coastal route which was beautiful.
In the town itself I was astounded to see two small pohutukawa trees flowering! And I wondered by what circumstances they had come to be planted there....
In the village I just shopped for food, then it was a 3km walk to the lighthouse, along a road that snaked upwards past more lovely sea views.
It was a fitting end to the journey to finish at the end of the world.....
